My name is Trea and through Functional Yin Yoga classes i would like to offer you a way to balance daily hectic, often stressful life.
To dive deep into our bodies we start off with a short meditation practice, often accompanied by a breathing exercise ( Pranayama ).
In the Yin Yoga postures we stay in stillness for 3 to 5 minutes to target the deeper layers of our bodies, the so called facia (bindweefsel). Fascia often holds lots of tension and body-waste fluids and this, for example, can lead to stiffness and lack of energy. By stretching and compressing these areas new energy can float freely throughout the body and waste fluids can be excreted. We will end the practise in total relaxation ( Savasana ). The final resting pose after a Yoga sequence.
Functional Yin Yoga is not about aesthetics or being flexible enough. Everyone has his or her own body structure and in my class we can adapt every yoga pose to accommodate YOUR unique body.
We are constantly “on the move”, we are constantly striving for things. In this Yin Yoga class expect to move into stillness, to reconnect with your bodies and the present moment.
